Pull Up to the Pump
Love Desert Restoration in Action
Every summer, we remove one concrete barrier for Dallas-Fort Worth families navigating
compound Love Desert conditions.
What Is Pull Up to the Pump?
Pull Up to the Pump is Love Deposit Inc.’s annual gas drive serving Dallas-Fort Worth families facing Hot Desert (material scarcity), Coastal Desert (disconnection from resources), and Semi-Arid Desert (inconsistent opportunity) conditions simultaneously.
We don’t just hand out gas cards. We show up, pump gas, feed families catered meals right in their cars, and build relationships. It’s festive — more like a party than a handout. Families receive hot meals, Kool-Aid pickles from kid entrepreneurs, cotton candy, ice cream, healthy juices, and treats for the kids.
Full service, not lip service.
We connect families to ongoing ecosystem restoration resources through our year-round programs. This isn’t charity. It’s community restoration.
Since 2018, Pull Up to the Pump has served 1,650+ families across eight annual events with $41,000 in direct gas assistance. From our first year helping 50 families to 2023’s landmark event reaching 400 families, we show up every June — regardless of gas prices, regardless of conditions.

Why Gas?
In Love Desert communities, transportation isn’t just about convenience — it’s about survival.
Without reliable transportation, families can’t:
Get to work (economic stability collapses)
Take kids to school (educational pathways close)
Access healthcare (preventable crises become emergencies)
Reach job interviews (Semi-Arid Desert deepens)
Connect with community resources (Coastal Desert isolation intensifies)
Maintain consistent presence (hope freezes in Cold/Polar Desert)
A full tank of gas removes one barrier from families already navigating multiple overlapping Love Desert conditions.
But Pull Up to the Pump is more than gas.
It’s also:
Relational connection — We meet families where they are, build trust, restore dignity
Resource navigation — We connect families to BOA, FOE, and ongoing support
Community presence — We show up consistently, year after year
Compound approach — We address immediate need (Hot Desert) while connecting to long-term support (all four Deserts)
Full service, not lip service.
